Family rituals may seem like small and insignificant events. They can be as simple as a weekly family dinner or watching movies on the weekends. However, they play a crucial role in strengthening the bonds between family members and creating a sense of belonging and identity.
In this episode of All Together, host Dina Sargeant was joined by Aidyn Macfarlane, a certified early childhood educator who now works as a filmmaker and video editor at Life Management Science Labs (LMSL). Aidyn has an eclectic range of knowledge in the humanities, including anthropology, sociology, and psychology. He has come onto the show today to speak about family rituals and their enduring importance.
They discussed how rituals and practices are important in families and agreed on thinking of how to make these traditions enjoyable for everyone. However, they also emphasized the need for these traditions to evolve and adapt to the changing times and cultural values. They also highlighted the importance of reflecting on what is meaningful to one's own family while still keeping significant family traditions alive.
Produced by the Family Science Labs, a division of LMSL, the Life Management Science Labs.
